In Memoriam
Centro honors the memory of an important member of the Centro family, Alameda County Supervisor Richard Valle. Longtime friend, Centro’s founder, past Executive Director, strong supporter, and contributor. A constant advocate for the less fortunate, he is in our prayers and will be forever missed. He has been with us since the beginning and without him, we would not be providing the services to our community that we do today. Rest in peace, Richard.
The heart of the community.
Based in Union City, CA since 1974, Centro leverages social services resources, community partners, volunteers, and donors to improve the quality of life for low-income families in the local area and neighboring cities.
Think of Centro as an open door. We help direct clients to precisely the support they need to address hunger, housing insecurity, immigration challenges, and so much more. Our primary goal is to enable clients to become self-sufficient.
