Food Distribution

Centro offers weekly food distribution to the hungry on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday

  • Every Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, rain or shine – Our main community food distribution in collaboration with Alameda County Food Bank
  • Every Monday & Thursday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM AND 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM – Our NEW Community Food Markets! We provide a market experience where participants can select from available fresh produce, groceries, and other food items based on their household’s needs and preferences. AT NO COST

  • We recommend calling us at 510-489-4100 or emailing us at info@centrods.org for more information regarding our schedule. Recipients are required to present a food bank card. People in need may register for a food bank card at Centro during the same time periods.

Food items vary week to week and may include fresh vegetables, dairy products, meat or poultry, non-perishable canned or dry foods, and more. The items available are different each week and are not guaranteed. We give what we have.

    How it Works

We often have a long line of community members! It is recommended to arrive early. We hand out numbers for the Tuesday distributions beginning at 7:30 AM, and food distribution begins at 10:00 AM. For our Community Markets, it is first come first serve at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM.

    Food Sources

Food items are provided by Alameda County Food Bank, Daily Bowl, Safeway, retail outlets, and other agencies. We even partner with some of your favorite restaurants and bakeries here in the Tri-City area! Pet meals, when available, are provided by the Ohlone Humane Society.
