Food Distribution

Centro offers weekly food distribution to the hungry

  • Every Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
  • Fourth Thursday of each month from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, except November.
  • Third Thursday of November from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
  • Numbers are handed out at 9:00 AM to assign order of service.

 

Food items vary week to week and may include fresh vegetables, dairy products, meat or poultry, non-perishable canned or dry foods, and more. The items available are different each week and are not guaranteed. We give what we have.

 

How it Works

We often have a long line of community members who need food, and it is difficult to be fair and ensure everyone is served. We give everyone a number when they arrive, and we distribute food packages in numerical order.

You may arrive early. We hand out numbers beginning at 9:00 AM, and food distribution begins at 10:00 AM.

 

Food Sources

Food items are provided by Alameda County Food Bank, Daily Bowl, retail outlets, and other agencies. Pet meals, when available, are provided by the Ohlone Humane Society.
